A bird flies by the reflection of the sunrise on the Kingston waterfront.
A bird flies by the reflection of the sunrise on the Kingston waterfront.

Fly like a bird

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

Peaceful birds, not angry birds.

Birds flying from the north, south, east and west.

Birds ready to fly high in the sky,

Like the eagles and the doves.

Not birds ready to die,

No chickens and no ducks.

Birds ready to fly high in the sky

Amidst the shining light,

Birds ready to take that great flight.

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

No more caged birds trapped in stagnation and deprivation.

Birds freed and ready to explore God’s amazing creation with unlimited imagination.

Birds chirping beautifully into the trees of man’s heart and soul,

Filling the atmosphere with positive energy that makes us whole.

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

We’re going to fly like a bird in the sky.

The Onyx Mutiny

I foresee a future of sickness

Where doctors and nurses only bare witness

To degradation of the strength and health

Giants instead rise and acquire wealth

From drugs that provide us no cure

The substance fades and becomes impure

I foresee a future of blackness

Dim, grim, rough…helpless

No more services for the holy

Once mounting mountains

Now fallen, lowly

Drums and bases are humbled

Boisterous lyrics are lyrically mumbled

I foresee a future of blood and slaughter

Faces of the meek rid of joy and laughter

Injustice and mayhem displace a nation’s anthem

Placards and microphones removed from them

Them who plea the right to breathe

Blood spill by the hands of murderous seethe

I foresee a future of bondage

No care to share, no love to salvage

Armed white heels trump raised black fist

Mournful black and blue eyes wide pissed

Their necks broken from the weight of the oppression

Innocence rewarded with victor’s forceful repression

I foresee a future with no repent

Rigid star-spangled banner’s descent

White-necked raven shrill caws at the border

Spectate the actions of the harsh performer

World audience of the onyx mutiny

Proud nation falls at the dawn of no community
