Choose integrity: disperse division

Published:Sunday | October 13, 2024 | 12:05 AM

In today’s world, where appearances often overshadow reality, it can be difficult to distinguish truth from falsehood. Social media and a multitude of content creators contribute to a scenario that feels increasingly artificial. Amid this confusion, we also find ourselves leading superficial personal and spiritual lives. This duality in our existence leaves us feeling fragmented.

SAY WHAT YOU MEAN

We live in an era of duality, where our words don’t match our intentions. Many of us find ourselves saying things we don’t really mean and doing things contrary to our speech. This misalignment diminishes the value of our words and erodes our sense of integrity. We become different people in different settings — at work, at home, or in social situations. We are not deceiving anybody but ourselves. Our real beauty lies in simplicity which stems from living an integrated life.

Our thoughts, words, and actions frequently clash. We may behave kindly on the surface while harbouring harsh thoughts inside. This internal discord goes unnoticed because we focus so much on the outside world. We can use filters to enhance our online appearance, however, there are no such filters available to enhance our experience of peace and joy. The solution lies in integration: uniting the fragmented parts of ourselves to unfold our true selves. When you don’t mean something, don’t say it. If you don’t want to do something, refrain from acting on it. There will be no regret and apologies with integrity.

DEEPENING DUALITY

Sadly, this division extends into our spiritual side as well. We often categorise experiences as either good or bad, attributing goodness to divine influence and evil to darker forces. This mindset undermines our sense of wholeness. Life’s principles cannot be compartmentalised.

We have two primary ways to live:

a) Take full responsibility of our lives. Or

b) Surrender completely to the higher power.

You can choose either path, but it’s crucial to embrace either one of them fully. When you take responsibility, you must become acutely aware of your thoughts, words, and actions and choose the path every moment. No blame game can be there. If you opt for surrender, acknowledge that both good and bad are part of a bigger plan. Accept life as it comes, without picking and choosing what you want or don’t want. Both approaches require a commitment to wholeness.

EMBRACE TOTALITY

Bring integrity back to our existence and live a life of completeness. Drop all divisions and welcome life in its entirety. By doing so, you will experience flourishing simplicity and bliss. Choosing wholeness is the true richness, leading to a life that blooms with joy and fulfilment.
