Before the all-new Jaguar XF diesel was uncovered at Stewarts Automotive, South Camp Road, Kingston, on Tuesday morning, it was on the move on screen. A short visual presentation gave the audience a further introduction to the luxury vehicle, the accompanying narrative adding to what Jacqueline Stewart Lechler had already said about it.

The Jaguar XF video was coloured with descriptives of its characteristics like appealing, independent, quietly confident, strong, reflecting intelligence, among other attributes. "This is not business as usual," the narrator said.

And Stewart Lechler said "this is not about figures, it is about feelings", as the cover was taken off the Jaguar XF diesel, bonnet first.

Still, there are some numbers to go through to add up to the XF feeling. Among them are a four-cylinder 2.0 diesel engine, a 54 litre luggage compartment , and a five-star safety rating. There is all-wheel drive to help keep the XF steadily on track, projector LED headlights, and three-spoke steering wheel design.

As persons took the opportunity to get a closer look at the Jaguar XF from outside, some more features were announced. Among them are pedestrian protection with an airbag at the front, moonroof and auto close tailgate.

It is the second generation of a vehicle that marked a departure in design approach for the brand. "In 2007, Jaguar decided to establish a new direction for their brand, stepping aside from a traditional company that created cars true to its classic legacy to now becoming relevant in a time where sleek, modern designs were a mainstay in the luxury-car market. It was during this new direction that the Jaguar XF was first introduced," Stewart Lechler said.

And she added: "The XF was received with rave reviews and has continued to hold its own in the market. Now, the second- generation Jaguar XF continues to be the epitome of modern luxury."
