The Jamaica Classic Car Club is hosting its third car show for the year today at the Jamaica Horticultural Society, Hope Pastures. Unlike previous events, which were dubbed 'drive-outs' where some members drove their vehicles out to various locations, this one is aimed to showcase the more exclusive vehicles in their collection.

"We are digging real deep in our inventory for this show as members will be bringing some of the most classic vehicles to display. Vehicles that are rarely driven by the owners, things that you only see in magazines," highlighted Shane Angus, president of the Jamaica Classic Car Club.

This being the club's main event for the year, they have meticulously planned the show to impress the public. "We are going to have over 120 vehicles on display. we don't want to make it too crowded, either. So the venue will promote a smooth flow of human traffic to ensure persons can walk around and see the various vehicles properly," said Angus.

Unlike shows of the past, this one has an underlying educational agenda as many of the vehicles that will be on display have stories behind them. "There is so much to learn about our vehicles. When you hear the stories behind them, you can get a better understanding of Jamaica's history, and this is something we want especially the kids to take away," expressed Angus.

He continued, "we want this show to be a family event; that's why we are only charging $1,000. There will be something for everyone, plus, many of our sponsors will have their products present to engage patrons."
