Silver Star Motors shakes things up with the new MERCEDES-BENZ GLB

With Jamaica often described as ‘SUV Country’, Silver Star Motors is shaking things up on the road with the arrival of the Mercedes-Benz GLB SUV, the most versatile compact SUV ever built by Mercedes-Benz. The SUV was debuted during a virtual launch in early October at the Silver Star Motors Showroom on South Camp Road.

Packed with gear and tech, the seven-seater Mercedes-Benz GLB joins the automaker’s range of compact cars like its A-class, CLA and B-class to occupy the space between MB’s GLA and GLC SUV line-up. And with no luxury rivals in sight, the GLB leaves a lasting impression on the road – from its striking and unique appearance to its flexible spaciousness.

According to Amanda Lechler, brand manager for Mercedes-Benz, “Jamaica has developed a great sense of appreciation for luxury SUV vehicles and so we are excited to be debuting the Mercedes-Benz GLB here for the very first time. This premium compact SUV effortlessly raises the bar in its segment, and we are excited to see it on the Jamaican roads.”

Even though Mercedes-Benz has parked the GLB line under its compact car range, the GLB model is anything but compact. It measures 4,634mm long, 1,834mm wide and 1,663mm tall, and customers have the option of adding a third row for two additional passengers. Here are some additional key features:

Exterior design – boasting an appearance that is full of character – powerful proportions and expressive design elements characterise the GLB as a strong pragmatist with clear off-road genes. From the front, the GLB has a striking radiator grille and SUV-typical openings. The GLB offers up an impressive sense of spaciousness to its occupants with its long wheelbase and function-oriented design of the greenhouse.

Space concept – the GLB impresses with plenty of space combined with compact dimensions. Comfortable loading already begins with the low boot sill. Variable folding options for the backrests make the GLB a flexible transport vehicle for everyday use. Alternatively, it provides space for two more passengers, to become a seven-seater.

All-digital instrument display – you experience the entire range of digital display possibilities. The large, high-resolution 10.25-inch display is individually configured by you – for example, in the classic form, with the speedometer on the left and the rev counter on the right. Visually impressive and easy to read: travel and driving assistance information is superimposed using the full display area.
