On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, Stewart’s Automotive Group premiered the new Mercedes-Benz GLC, a high-end SUV that has been a top seller for the brand. “We’re excited to introduce the all-new GLC, Mercedes-Benz’s bestselling model for the last two years. In Jamaica, the GLC is available as a mild hybrid with 48-volt technology and an integrated starter-generator,” Brand Sales Manager Amanda Issa said.

The event took place at the company’s Silver Star Motors in Kingston, where guests parked at Jessie Ripoll Primary School and were shuttled to the location, in fine style, by Mercedes SUVs. The showroom was decked out in an intimate and sophisticated layout with two model units of the GLC, that persons were able to sit in and explore the features. “We wanted a natural and easy flow throughout the showroom, with enough space for guests to comfortably experience the vehicles and interact with them. We also wanted to do something special for our first event post COVID, and we think we delivered,” disclosed an elated Issa.

Known for its high level of luxury, the GLC’s new design boasts an 11.9-inch central touchscreen multimedia display, with a voice-control system and a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.

“The new GLC is the most dynamic model in the successful SUV family from Mercedes-Benz, embodying modern, sporty luxury. The Jamaican market is going to fall in love with the new, high-quality interior design and the significantly improved on- and off-road capabilities,” Issa added.

Those in attendance were treated with an abundance of hors d’oeuvres, that included lobster and oxtail, along with the visual display of pyrotechnics to add a level of flare that matched the extravagance of the event.

The new GLC is powered by a two-litre Inline four-cylinder turbocharged engine that is mated to a 9-speed transmission with a rear-wheel drivetrain, and is currently on sale at Silver Star Motors.
