Investment banker and General Manager of Proven Wealth, Ryan Reid, is leaving the firm, having tendered his resignation, which takes effect on July 18.

His resignation follow two others at the management level from Proven earlier this year - Chorvelle Johnson, the former CEO of Proven Wealth and Proven Fund Managers who now heads Sagicor bank and who left in January, and Pierre Shirley, general manager of Proven REIT in March.

When contacted, Reid declined to comment on his next move, but a usually reliable source said that he has assembled a team to launch out on his own business venture.

The Financial Gleaner understands that the venture will not be a competitor to Proven. Reid would not comment on the information but indicated that whatever he would be doing would make a significant contribution to Jamaica as he has done in his 10 years as an investment banker.

Reid is chairman of Growth Tech and has had directorships in both the public and private sector. He is also a member of the national investment policy steering committee appointed by the Government.

During his tenure at Proven Wealth, Reid had oversight for the investments and corporate finance teams.
