Finance minister hits the road again

Minister of Finance Dr Nigel Clarke and his entourage are halfway through another non-deal roadshow, this time in Europe.

The jaunt, which is part of the ministry's annual calendar of meetings with financial interests and creditors, runs from July 9-13 with stops in London and Frankfurt.

The meetings will update a cross section of investors on the country's economy and on the economic policies being pursued to achieve growth, the Ministry said. The delegation includes acting Financial Secretary Darlene Morrison, acting deputy financial secretary, Economic Management Division, Dian Black; senior analyst to the minister, Stephanie Abrahams; and Bank of Jamaica Governor Brian Wynter.

GraceKennedy adds two to board

GraceKennedy Limited has added academic Indianna Minto-Coy and former banker Peter Moses to its board of directors, effective June 26.

"The addition of two directors at this time is in keeping with our plans for orderly succession planning, maintaining an appropriate balance of skills and experience, and strengthening of the board in areas of competence required to support new opportunities in our domestic and international markets," said chairman, Professor Gordon Shirley.

Minto-Coy is a senior research fellow at the Mona School of Business and Management at the University of the West Indies, Mona, as well as a research affiliate at the International Migration Research Centre in Canada.

Moses is chairman of the board of First Global Bank Limited and a director of the GraceKennedy Financial Group Limited. He was formerly the country head of Citibank NA Jamaica up to his retirement.
