NY-bound Caribbean Airlines flight diverted due to engine troubles

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – A Caribbean Airlines (CAL) flight bound for John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York from Guyana, diverted to Nassau, Bahamas last night due to a mechanical issue with one of its engines.
In a statement, CAL said there were 134 passengers and seven crew on board flight BW 526.
The plane landed safely at 10:51 p.m. (Local time) and was met by airport services.
CAL says the aircraft has been withdrawn from service and all appropriate inspections and procedures are in progress .
