"I'm here in Philadelphia to show my support for the Democratic National Party, and I leave for Jamaica tomorrow!" Vivica A. Fox, excitedly told The Gleaner. "It's a three-peat!" she said laughing.

This makes the third year that the actress has chosen Jamaica as the destination for her birthday celebration.

On Saturday, July 30, Fox will ring in her 52nd birthday at Secrets Resort in Montego Bay, St James, to the excitement of her fans and followers of OCEAN Style Magazine.

"People have been blasting up my Twitter, asking how they can come!" the actress excitedly told The Gleaner, making sure to spell out her FoxyJamaicaBDay hashtag.

The film and television star recalled visiting Margaritaville last year, taking advantage of their day cruise package, causing her to fall in love all over again, with the "beautiful Jamaican waters". Fittingly, the actress has planned a series of events for her family, including a catamaran cruise, about which she is especially excited.

When asked what keeps bringing her back to Jamaica shores, she sighed before saying, "Just getting out on the waters in Jamaica, just the freedom. It's the one time, out on the waters I can relax and say 'thank you, God'".

FAMILY AFFAIR

"I'm bringing my sister," Fox said, "and my niece, who'll be coming for the first time. "They saw the photos from last year and were like, 'you're definitely not leaving us this year!'" Fox's 52nd birthday celebration takes her back to Magaritaville, where she intends to cruise again, but only after taking her family on the catamaran.

Her visit will culminate at Secrets Wild Orchid Resorts in Montego Bay on Saturday for an all-white theme party, featuring performances by pioneer American female rapper MC Lyte, who will be registering her first visit to Jamaica, and a member of her Empire television show family, Yazz the Greatest, one-time headliner of Reggae Sumfest.

"I just wanna bring the old school and new school for this celebration," the actress told The Gleaner, explaining the birthday concert line-up.

Fox has visited Jamaica before, hosting a Fashion's Night Out event a few years ago. Fox was also the celebrity guest of the reopening of Kingston's Fiction Nightclub, where she said she had a blast.

Now, she is looking forward to celebrating for the third time along with longtime collaborators OCEAN Style Magazine, specifically editor-in-chief Douglas K. Gordon. The turntables will be controlled by DJ Jermaine Russell from LA, with the evening being hosted by popular Jamaican personality and designer, Denyque.
