On an isolated stretch of land 50 miles outside of San Francisco sits the most haunted house in the world. With corridors that meander through a maze of shadowy rooms, stairways that rise only to end abruptly at ceiling and doors that open on to solid walls, the Winchester mansion has the most perplexing architecture in history.

Constructed in an incessant 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week mania for decades, it stands seven stories tall and contains hundreds of rooms. Built by Sarah Winchester (Academy Award winner Helen Mirren), heiress to the Winchester fortune, this house is an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts, and the most terrifying among them have a score to settle with the Winchesters.

Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built is based on the life of Sarah Winchester (1840-1992), who inherited the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, after losing her family and husband to tuberculosis. The film is written by Tom Vaughan and is directed by the Spierig Brothers, known for their films Daybreakers, Predestination and the recent entry to the Saw franchise, Jigsaw. Leading the cast are Academy Award winner Helen Mirren, Jason Clarke, Sarah Snook, Finn Scicluna-O'Prey and Angus Sampson.
