Remember the healer more than the musician

While Irvin 'Carrot' Jarrett is being widely lauded as a member of Third World Band after his passing on Tuesday, Alisia Jarrett is remembering her husband more as a naturopathic practitioner than a musician, and she says that Carrot saw himself that way and did not really like being a professional musician.
"The only thing he liked about the music was the women," Alisia said about Jarrett the professional performer. "He told people don't remember the musician Carrot Jarrett. He said remember the naturopathic Carrot Jarrett." However, separate from playing music professionally, The Gleaner reported after Jarrett's death that he was passionate about the healing power of music.
RADIO PROGRAMME
Being 21 years younger than her husband, she did not see him play as a regular member of Third World. Her first experience of her husband on stage was about four years ago when Third World had a show at The Hamptons in the United States and "they invited him on stage. I haven't seen him play after".
On Thursday night, Alisia spoke on the Living Well radio programme which Carrot hosted on RJR 94 FM on Thursdays from midnight to 5 a.m.
However, she makes it clear that she is not contracted for the show, and her involvement began one night when she accompanied her husband to the studio and he was hoarse, so she filled in. Still, their business Living Well continues to operate.
"He has healed so many people. That is what he would really want to be remembered for. He was living in a spiritual way in a human body," Jarrett said.
