The Apollo Series returns with up-and-coming lyricists

After three successful stagings since January, The Apollo Series is set to return on Saturday, October 20. The Haven, where the event is held at 12 Hillcrest Avenue, will come alive again as rising artistes Eva Flow, Jeeby Lyricist and Yeza take the stage.

"The summer is usually very busy, and we wanted to take the time to curate the right talent," said Simon the writer, organiser of The Apollo Series. "We are featuring some of the best up-and-coming lyricists on the live-music scene right now with these three acts."

Eva Flow has recently been making a name for himself with his single Familiar Stranger and through numerous performances with his band, The Skystarters. Likewise, Jeeby Lyricist has been building his brand across the island from Kingston to Montego Bay at live-music venues. Fresh from a stint in the United Kingdom, Yeza has also been quite active on the entertainment scene as one of the most electric female performers.

The Apollo Series, a part-showcase-part-open-stage event, will also have musicians, poets and other talents showcasing their skills for a maximum of five minutes. The three featured acts will each perform at two points in the show - a concept called 'rotating sets' - with the open-stage segments taking place in-between their first appearances. They then appear one after the other for the second round.

Gates open at 7 p.m., and showtime is 8 p.m.
