Although still not fully recovered from injuries she sustained in a car accident last year, reggae singer Sophia Brown is declaring that she is mentally ready to perform at back-to-back shows in the United States later this month.

Brown is scheduled to take the stage at the Lady Flava Award show on November 17 in Hartford, Connecticut, before heading to Maryland on Thanksgiving weekend for another show.

The singer is nominated in the Best Female Lovers' Rock Singer category at the Lady Flava awards show.

"This nomination means a lot to me because it shows that despite being away from the spotlight for months, people are still paying attention to my music," said Brown, who won the award in 2015.

Brown was involved in a near-tragic motor-vehicle accident in the United States back in July. She was travelling in a car with two members of her team to perform at a reggae concert in Baltimore when the incident occurred.

"I have been preparing myself, body and mind, for both shows. Maryland is where the accident happened, so I am having mixed feelings, but I am ready nonetheless," she said.
