Being a parent is hard, but being a parent while manoeuvring a full-time job as an artiste is even more challenging. But some fathers on the local entertainment scene make the job look easy. Their children decided to celebrate them today by sending notes of appreciation to tell us the best things about their father.

Ikyra Davis, daughter of Moses Davis (Beenie Man)

“Daddy always allows us to pursue our dreams. He never restricts us to what he wants and what he thinks we should want. He always gives us just the right amount of leeway to be ourselves but still stay honest, kind, and humble. He is not only a father when it’s time to reprimand and discipline us, he is a confidant and a friend, and that’s what allows him to be a great parent. I can trust him to listen and not judge but give me the best advice.”

Mosiah Davis (son of Beenie Man)

“Daddy is a great motivator and inspiration to me on a whole different level. He has supported me throughout my entire life – bad grades, good grades, sick, defiant attitude, all my aspirations in sports and academics. The fact that he is always so happy and joyful allows me to communicate with him more comfortably, and with that, over time, our bond has become impenetrable. Love you, Dad!

Hi, Dad. I just want to let you know that I love you. You are smart, you are brave and you make me happy. I love you, and I care for you. We have a really, really good relationship together. I am really happy that I am your daughter. I think we need to spend some time together. I am so thankful for all the things you did for me. I never want to leave you. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY. LOVE NANA
