Pulse supermodel Alicia Burke, who is ranked among the world’s best, has now scored her fifth Vogue editorial. Her previous outings were for the Italian, Thai, and Japanese versions of fashion’s most important publication.

Burke, who is fast becoming a staple among the Vogue set, appeared in this month’s Vogue Mexico. She has graced the cover of the Italian edition, shot by one of the most celebrated photographers in fashion, Steven Meisel.

The Vogue Mexico editors were pleased to tap Burke for its “Energia Centrifuga” story shot by Yulia Gorbanchenko and styled by Sandi Armeni. In grey and black suits, sporting her close cropped Afro, Alicia shows off high energy and command of her craft in front of the camera. For her close ups and body-con shots, make-up artist Tyron Machhausen makes her glow and with right body language and attitude.

“It was a great shoot. I loved every minute of it. The styling was fierce and I enjoyed being on set with the team,” said Burke.

The supermodel’s body of work speaks volume for her rise in the modelling industry. With an extensive range which spans advertising, editorial, catalogues, fashion shows and campaigns.

Enviable client list

Alicia’s client list reads like a ‘best of’ across the biggest brands in fashion. Armani, Calvin Klein, Dolce and Gabbanna, Gucci, Ralph Lauren and Tom Ford are just a few of the brands that have booked her for duties both for the shows and campaigns. Make-up titans have also signed up Burke to front their advertising campaigns. Bobbi Brown, Gucci Beauty, Laura Mercier and Nars Cosmetics all called on the Jamaican beauty to push their products on several occasions.

“What this demonstrates is Alicia’s selling power. Her ability to move product for the clients has them coming back to book her multiple times,” Pulse chairman Kingsley Cooper said.

The Bullet Tree, Old Harbour-bred Burke, was raised in humble circumstances but was encouraged by her grandmother to go for her dreams.

“My grandmother always believed in me she did all that she could to help me get ahead,” said the Vere Technical High school alum whose was discovered in Pulse’s Caribbean Model Search in 2015.

She began her modelling career in 2016 in London with Models 1 and is now based in NY with Elite Model Management. Her roster of international agencies also include, Women Milan and Paris and Le Management in Scandinavia.
