Award-winning reggae soul band, Leon & The Peoples, led by singer, actor and producer simply known as Leon, will join Third World band today at the Sony Hall in Manhattan for an event benefiting the Issa Trust Foundation’s charity.

For The Children, the New York City gala benefiting the Issa Trust Foundation’s charity, will include a silent auction and a pledge drive that will help to generate the funding necessary to build a brand-new paediatric/adolescent health centre for the children of Jamaica. The facility will provide expertise in areas such as cardiology, nephrology, gastroenterology, oncology and mental health support.

Leon is excited to participate in this weekend’s charity event.

“I am humbled and honoured to give of my time and talent for the children. Helping our youth in every way is close to my heart and a mission of my band. When we can play our music and support the Issa Trust Foundation’s mission, it’s a win-win! Joining our friends, Third World, on this event makes it even more special for us,” Leon said.

Leon & The Peoples’ latest album, Love Is A Beautiful Thing, which has the debut single of the same name, charted number three on Billboard’s Hot Singles Sales.

Leon, the star of the Disney hit Cool Runnings, Motown’s The Temptations mini-series and this year’s A Day to Die movie, leads the band with his smooth, sultry vocals, while The Peoples features top-notch musical talent from across the globe. The unique creation results in high-energy live performances and a commitment to bringing their blend of soul and reggae to a worldwide audience.
