A section of Manchioneal, Portland, two days after Hurricane Gilbert destroyed the community.
Extensive damage was done to the equipment of the Jamaica Public Service Company when Hurricane Gilbert battered Jamaica. Several utility poles were uprooted and wires and equipment were left dangling on the roads.
This aircraft got caught in a tree at the Norman Manley International Airport.
A section of the farm at Eastern Banana Estates showed the complete destruction effected by the 115-mile-an-hour winds brought by Hurricane Gilbert. Cultivation on the 2,000-acre estate was totally destroyed.

Hurricane Gilbert made landfall on the east coast of Jamaica at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 12, 1988, as a category four hurricane. Hurricane Gilbert devastated Jamaica, leaving hundreds of houses without roofs, hundreds of persons homeless and extensive damage to agricultural crops.
