It is said that when a woman is happy, it shows in everything she does. Happiness was reflected in each garment that graced the catwalk at last Sunday's, Heather Laine Fashion and Beyond 2015 Christmas Collection, held at the trendy 10 Lancaster Road, home of the popular Jamaican label.

Fashion designer Zoe Summers told Flair she was inspired this year because a very close relative had just recovered, having been seriously ill.

"Plus, I have always had great showings in the past, so my focus was how to top that," Summers explained, adding that she just knew she had to create a fabulous line this year.

"We worked night and day and the result is my way of celebrating women of all age groups, body types and sizes - whatever they are, we celebrate them," Summers added.

From experience, the petite fashion designer knows that at this time of year, there are many parties featuring an all white theme, so the collection has a line of white, sexy numbers from which everyone can make their selection. Colours are also all the rage in for the Christmas season, so many designs come in bold red, orange, green, blue, black and gold.

"I have also added animal prints and textures ranging from heavy fabrics to chiffon, stretches, and of course, lace, lace and more lace, over nude or other solids. Whatever your preference, I advise women to be comfortable. Wear something that suits you, accentuate the body part that you want to show off, and most of all, feel good."

THE SHOW

The 2015 Christmas collection has something for daytime, evening, formal, casual, church and any other occasion to which you might be invited. In fact, it's better to consider this store your 'style central' for the season. Think sparkling whites, dramatic reds, refreshing yellows and colours brought to life with accents of lace or sheer, or even gold and silver.

Furstenburg's wrap dress remains timeless, and there are lots to choose from; prints find their place from morning till after six and beyond; while formal attire can be draped or made exciting with geometric cuts that dare you to wear them. It's the time for free-flowing tops with that sexy skirt or flared pants ... and it being Christmas, you just cannot leave home without that little red dress!

Special guest was international image consultant, Patrice DaCosta, who introduced her book, Stoosh Style Secrets, and gave some valuable tips about accessorising.
