From Third Grade to Happily Ever After - The Scarletts' Story

When third graders of Jesse Ripoll Primary Kimoy Beroni and Knox Scarlett set eyes on each other across the classroom, they had no clue that the reserved beauty would be a match for the little troublemaker.

Kimoy remembers them having a love-hate relationship throughout their childhood. He was the troublemaker, but from then, she recalled them having a small crush on each other. For Knox it was an instant attraction.

"We sat at the same table for maths class and other than her beauty, I was attracted to how smart and proper she was. It was not until grade five that we were both in the same class. This way, I saw her everyday and not just on Wednesdays for maths with the very lovely Ms Vassel," Knox recalled.

High school came along and they separated but kept in touch. During these years, there was no time for a real connection. But as fate would have it, the two reconnected at the University of Technology, and after a while, they both knew that for each other, they were the one.

"For me, there wasn't a single defining moment where I realised he was the one," Kimoy told Flair. She continued, "What I can tell you is that for the duration of our relationship, his persistence and constant love for me, the sense of security he provided and the tremendous bond we shared despite disagreements or even in times of separation, made me certain that there isn't a single soul on earth I'd rather have by my side to take on the world," she said.

Knox shared similar sentiments about his love for her. "So, naturally, from the time we met in primary school, I was attracted to her. However, it was not until about two years into the relationship that it was cemented in my mind that yes, this is who I'd love to spend the rest of my life with. It was the way she took the time to understand me beyond my ego and sometimes flirtatious manner. What she saw in me - most times I never understood and perhaps, to be honest, I still don't. Every moment since then was spent arranging my life to invite her to be apart of it, forever," he said.

POPPING THE QUESTION

On October 17, 2015, two days before Kimoy's birthday, the couple of went to Chukka Cove in Falmouth. While on a tour of the estate, Knox got down on his knee and popped the question to an unsuspecting Kimoy. She was overcome with emotion and with tears of joy streaming down her face she said, "Yes!".

On February 13, the couple of tied the knot at St Paul's United Church. While Knox was nervous about the day running smoothly, Kimoy was just anxious for the wedding to begin.

"On the day, I was super excited. Excited beyond words. I was so excited that I went to bed at around 4 a.m. and got up a little after five because I just couldn't wait for it to happen. Everything seemed to be taking forever on the day. There was also a sense of relief - the day was here, and all the planning and organising finally coming to fruition," she admitted.

The church was decorated in red and white. There were red and white tulle bows with baby's breath placed on each bench along the aisle. Two large red rose arrangements were placed on columns at both ends of the altar.

The reception held at Up Park Camp was initially planned for outdoors, but the weather didn't permit, so the church's reception hall was transformed into a romantic red and white room, with the head table being predominantly white, accentuated with red rose petals.

The night went smoothly with well wishes from close family and friends and the Scarletts danced into happily ever after.
