Improving Vaginal Health With Vagi Spa
Vaginal steaming is an ancient practice that is said to cleanse the vagina and the uterus through the use of healing herbs and steam. This method is said to help to regulate menstruation, ease menstrual cramps, bloating and other ailments associated with the vagina and uterus.
Vagi Spa located at Shop #8 Upstairs 1211/2 Constant Spring Road, is the only female spa in Jamaica dedicated to pampering your most sacred treasure.
Vagi Spa's main service is steaming with the use of herbal blends. The spa consists of a steam room which has chairs designed to heighten your personal steaming experience. "It was conceptualised out of my personal need and it worked for me and I just decided to go wholesale with it," explained CEO Kamara Lambert.
Lambert further explained that there are a lot of women in Jamaica who are insecure about the odour, suffering from yeast infections and vaginal dryness. "In eastern cultures, it is believed to be able to help with endometriosis, fibroids, and irregular menstrual cycles.
There is no dedicated place in Jamaica to deal with pampering the vagina, besides at a doctors office," said Lambert.
At Vagi Spa, persons are able to steam alone or with friends as group sessions and bridal shower options are available. "Steaming only takes half an hour and persons can enjoy a glass of wine of fruit drink while they steam," she said.
DIFFERENT HERBAL BLENDS
At Vagi Spa, no two herbal blends are the same. Every herbal blend is unique to the individual and caters to their specific needs. The spa offers four different categories of blends which include Detox, Cleanse, Pain Reliever and Chill'n.
The Detox blend aids with heavy bleeding, fibroids and endometriosis, infertility, and hormonal imbalance.
The Cleanse blend focuses on vaginal tightening and toning, increased fertility, vaginal odour eliminator, helps with yeast infections, missing or irregular periods, and miscarriages.
Pain Reliever blend helps with painful menstrual cramps.
Chill'n blend is for persons suffering from hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and menopause.
Kamara Lambert was exposed to the healing powers of herbal steaming while studying in China. Her passion for helping others propelled her to become certified in herbology and begin her naturopathic quest to improve the lives of women through the use of herbs. She believes modern medicine is needed to cure different ailments, however, traditional medicine such as steaming with healing herbs are needed for the maintenance of good health. Lambert recommends steaming pre- and post-menstruation in order for the herbs to be effective when the body needs them the most.
"This is my calling," said Lambert, who left her nine-to-five job after working in the shipping industry for several years. She admitted to feeling more fulfilled knowing that she is helping persons to improve the quality of their vaginal health.
