"When two souls fall in love, there is nothing else but the yearning to be close to the other. The presence that is felt through a hand held, a voice heard or a smile seen," this quote from Poet Lang Leav's poem Souls is a true reflection Jolanda and Darren Daley's love story.

When Jolanda and Darren met in the Summer of 2014, it was love at first sight. At least for her. Darren was drawn to her beauty but did not believe that she was interested even though she did make attempts to get his attention. Jolanda thought that he had the most handsome smile and the more she spoke to him, the more she wanted.

"I was extremely mesmerised by his smile and laughter," she told Flair.

Darren had always been a romantic and to get her to be his girlfriend, he asked her out to dinner on a Friday evening in 2015. This so happened to be the day before Valentine's Day. There, Darren states, he gave her a proposal that she could not possibly refuse, "I asked her to be my Valentine."

The rest was history. Getting to know each other was easy . There was never a dull moment between the two and for Darren, they never ran out of things to say and he also loved the fact the she motivated him. Jolanda was caring and genuine and actually got his jokes.

Everything just came together for the two. So on New Year's Day January 2017, at dinner at his sister's house, he got before their friends and family and popped the question. But there was a pause, an unexpected pause which slightly shook Darren.

"I remembered her asking, 'what are you doing?' To which I responded, "I'm trying to make you my wife!' Eventually, she said yes, to me it felt like forever but in reality, it was only 10 seconds," Darren recalled.

She admitted that she was completely caught off guard. They had spoken about marriage and had no doubt that she wanted to marry him, she was extremely surprised at the timing. There were no hints or indication that that would be the day that he would have asked her.

It took them a little over a year to plan their wedding and February 17, 2018 was the date that they became one. It was an outdoor rustic wedding held at Boon Hall. It was time for their happily ever after. When Darren saw Jolanda at the end of the aisle in her Maggie Sottero bridal gown, all he could feel was his heart swell with joy. He was just truly overwhelmed by her beauty. This was happening.

Jolanda found it a bit more difficult to hold back her emotions even though she had promised herself that she was not going to cry. But it just took her seeing him at the top of the aisle in his Gary Cranston tailored suit. He was her real-life prince charming and this day was finally here, her tears began to flow, her tears of joy.

They danced their first dance as Mr and Mrs Daley to The Vow by Nando Griffith specially written and produced for them. They enjoyed the rest of a perfect night to wake up to the beginning of a beautiful new chapter.
