Exciting carnival glam box

Who is ready for Jamaica’s carnival road march 2019? As each band prepares for the most-anticipated event of the year, revellers are beginning to get their gear, outfits, and not to mention gym body ready for the road. Getting the essentials for surviving this action filled day is crucial. If you are new to soca and fêtting for the first time, you might feel a little overwhelmed with finding everything you need. This was Sadeke Brooks’ dilemma last year when she decided to step outside of her comfort zone and take on the road. “I decided to really get into carnival and I needed stockings. I looked everywhere and I could not find what I wanted. There were even stores selling low-quality products at outrageous prices,” stated Brooks. This led her to create a Carnival Glam Box, which has all the essentials you would need for before and after carnival.

“I am pretty sure there are other persons like myself who have been in that position, so I decided to source items that people would want for the season. Everything can be found at one place versus going to different persons for different products,” she said.

Each Glam Box consists of a fanny pack, phone pouch or wristlet, Micles stockings in every skin tone, glitter fishnet or diamanté stockings, face gems, eyeshadow glitter, sunglasses, earrings, make-up remover wipes, nipple covering, cleaner, suntan lotion, hand sanitising wipes, and a bath bomb.

“After carnival, you are going to be sweaty and tired by the end of it. This box has items for pampering yourself after the event,” said Brooks. She selected items that were conveniently packaged to fit into any small space. “You can carry the hand-sanitser wipes on the road instead of a bottle, and store it anywhere because they are small and convenient. The nipple covering will prevent any form of unwanted exposure while enjoying yourself in your carnival outfit,” said Brooks.
