Next to the Spanish Town, St Catherine, motor vehicle examination depot is the Chamz Depot Restaurant, which continues to satisfy the palates of its patrons.

The food facility, which opened its doors more than 20 years ago, has expanded the town's dining experience to satisfy customers' demands.

"For all the years that we've been operating here, customers have been asking that we open on Sundays. For their loyalty, we've decided to honour their request to offer our services on Sundays," said Restaurant Manager Devon Morris. Morris told Food that the menu has also been expanded in keeping with the demand for greater variety.

"We now prepare brown stew crowfoot and beans; fried chicken; stew chicken; brown stew fish; ackee and saltfish and 'barbi- fried' chicken. This is in addition to our signature curried goat; curried chicken; curried beef; and curried fish," Morris said.

These dishes are served with dumplings, roti, rice, turned cornmeal, pasta, or ground provisions. Food was told that there are also various soups and other hot beverages to satisfy the customers' tastes.

"Whenever I visit Spanish Town, this is where I dine. The food is very tasty, so I am very glad to know that they are expanding the variety, but the Curried goat is still the best," long-time customer Everton Buchanan told us. "We pride ourselves in the use of wood fire in cooking, especially for the curried goat it (the fire) seems to add flavour to the curry," Morris said.

So if you are ever in the old capital put Chamz on your list.
