Jungle Fyah - Firing up taste buds

Published:Tuesday | July 3, 2018 | 12:00 AMRocheda Bartley/Lifestyle Writer

Jungle Fyah Jerk Centre Restaurant is dubbed as Jamaica's hottest buffet style restaurant that fires up taste buds with a number of authentic dishes. This Bayside based eatery has left an indelible mark on foodies in and around the Portmore area.

King of the jungle, master chef Franklin Mason told Food that the distinct flavours and tastes at Jungle Fyah guarantee an unforgettable culinary experience.

"I train most of my chefs so the flavours will remain. The ambience at the restaurant, the unique dishes that we offer which many persons in St Catherine don't, and our special sauce which transforms our food from the ordinary to the extraordinary makes us different from others. And that why you should be coming down to Jungle Fyah," Mason said.

The options such as the peppered steak flavoured with a little Campari paired with Spanish rice and garnished with vegetables, meat balls on a bed of spaghetti bed, the traditional jerk chicken and pork, and shrimp Alfredo pasta that is sauced with heavy cream and Parmesan cheese are amazing selections.

And if you think that's all, the striking drinks that are perfected by the Harold Smith, a mixologist in the jungle will have your taste buds singing to the tune of great sensations. We were introduced to Nice and Easy, Smooth Sailing, and Canary. These should also be your top choices.

Every day is a great day for you to journey to Jungle Fyah. But Thursday nights are the best. This is when you're destined to be feted with pleasing music from old school Jamaican artistes. Who knows, maybe Pinchers could be the one who's adding the extra entertainment to life, later tonight at the Jungle Fyah.

So, what are you waiting for? You should already be in the jungle frolicking with tasty meals and drinks.
