Savoury, mouth watering flavours await lovers of PAN chicken and authentic Jamaican experiences at PAN 2018, hosted by CB Foods. As part of its thrust to support the local economy and Live Better, PAN continues to encourage entrepreneurs and Jamaican-owned businesses through its annual series of events and workshops, culminating in the annual food festival taking place August through to October.

No stranger to PAN as it has been a partner from its inception, National Baking Company continues to support the movement. After all, National Hardo Bread is the other half of the iconic duo of PAN Chicken.

This year, as a special activity for PAN enthusiasts, National Baking Company invites patrons to its 'Bread Endz'; a place where food, family and fun come together perfectly for an unforgettable experience.

National Baking will also introduce its 33% Reduced Sugar Giant Hardo Bread to PAN patrons, by switching out a slice of the classic Giant Hardo Bread for its healthier and equally delicious counterpart. It's said that you won't be able to taste the difference!

Donnette Hines, marketing manager of National Baking Company, is excited about the upcoming PAN season:

"Each year when you look at the calibre of the PAN men and women and their respective culinary presentations, one can only feel proud to be part of the facilitation of their growth. These are the men and women who are part of the backbone of our culinary grassroots culture that we are known for worldwide."

She continued: "When you combine passion from the chefs, a fabulously executed experience on-the-ground and the world's best bread, National Hardo Bread - the synergy is undeniable. This experience is one of the best that Jamaica has to offer."

Of course, traditional Jamaican PAN chicken would not be complete without that extra loving lather of ketchup. Enter Seprod's Miracle Ketchup, the official congenial condiment of PAN 2018. A big hit following its debut, patrons will have their taste buds brought to life as they sample the delicious results of the 'Miracle' sauce competition. PAN men and women will purvey the most piquant of flavours in combinations that are sure to be delectable.

Improved Prizes

First, second and third place winners will each receive a year's supply of Miracle ketchup, cash prizes and the winner will also receive a special entrepreneurial prize.

Also under the Seprod portfolio, Serge Monster Milk is back with a bang to host the revered kiddie's village present at each staging, promising to be a superb family affair. As a special treat, Monster Milk is set to launch its newest flavoured milk drinks; Cherry Milk and Chocolate Milk much to the delight of the mini PAN fans.

New partner Wisynco joins the PAN 2018 festivities as the official non-alcoholic beverage partner of the event, leading with its Coca Cola, Wata and Tru Juice brands. In keeping with the true entrepreneurial spirit that PAN embodies, Wisynco will partner with local vendors at each regional location, offering products at discounted prices.

PAN Chicken smothered with sauce or ketchup and topped with hardo bread to absorb the flavourful juices resting in Nupak foil, would not be a classic cultural combo without an ice-cold Red Stripe.

"PAN has established a reputation for great food and great experiences, and great food deserves a great beer," enthused Reshima Kelly, Assistant Brand Manager at Red Stripe.

"Beyond the culinary delights, PAN also empowers our local pan men and women, giving them a platform to showcase their skill and introduce them to new clientele. What's also great is the music and the vibe. So it gives us a prime opportunity to stand up for our culture and connect with our consumers," she added.

Walkerswood Jerk is also an important element of all things PAN, and they return to the 2018 staging. Copperwood Pork, Bad Dawg Sausages, Homegrown Corn are all set to showcase their products for gastronomic results.

Patrons are encouraged to come out for the first PAN 2018 Regional Competition hosted by CB Foods at Folly Oval, Portland on August 25, for a delightful and tantalising day of family fun and entertainment. This year the series will be hosted by Miss Kitty the Fluffy Diva herself and Dufton 'Duffy' Shepherd, with several popular gospel and mainstream acts.
