PAN-demonium’ of flavour

It was a 'PAN-demonium' of flavour, as food lovers gathered at the transformed food hub in the parking lot of the National Stadium. PAN 2018 excited palates at its three regional Showdowns and the finals, held recently in Kingston.
Set to whet and satisfy taste buds, the highly anticipated foodie event did just that. PAN experts from Kingston and St Andrew, Portland, St Mary, St Ann, Clarendon, St Elizabeth, Manchester and more, fired up their grills in hopes to provide sizzling, succulent chicken for the eagerly awaiting patrons.
With smoke filling the open air, many gathered at the jerk men and women of their choice for a taste of this 'oldie but goodie' traditional favourite. To intensify the jerk experience, foodies were also given the option of indulging in Copperwood pork and Bad Dawg Sausages. The kiddies' village, located on the outskirts of the festive excitement, occupied the young and the young at heart. Prizes and surprises came into play throughout the day, and continued through the 'fun-tastic' night.
The highlight of the night came when it was time for the foodie announcements. 'Fluffy Diva' Miss Kitty entertained her attentive audience as she incorporated both them and the sponsors in her fiery showcase. For PAN Grand Finale, Andre Lawson from St James secured the third spot, while Aldene Allen from Hanover placed second. In the end, Lesma Huie, wife, mother and chef from Clarendon, who told everyone that she was coming to claim the top prize her husband enter for but missed the chance of winning, walked away as the PAN Finals 2018 winner.
Performances from Ghost, Wayne Wonder, Shenseea and Ding Dong and The Ravers were just the 'icing' patrons needed to sweeten the already-flavourful 'PAN' cake.
