The festive season of Cinco de Mayo is almost here, and already Chilitos has major plans to wow your taste buds with gastronomic delight.

According to managing director of Chilitos JaMexican Food, Christopher Boxe, every year, Cinco de Mayo celebrates the coming together of the best of Mexican and Jamaican cultures, and this year will be no different. In fact, it will be bigger and better than before!

Vibrant Jamaican music and dance scenes with the bold meld of Jamaican and Mexican flavours paired with the sweet and tangy margarita or accompanied by a smoky tequila shot are the great expectation that usually comes to flavourful fruition. “The dynamic duo of Jamaican vibes and Mexican taste have seamlessly worked hand in hand for the last 11 years at Chilitos to create the JaMexican culture that we are proud to call our own,” Boxe added.

Last year, described as the best of them all, had new and returning customers turning out in record numbers indulging in savoury dishes such as Cinco special fried chicken tacos, alongside discounted margaritas and ‘beergaritas’, courtesy of Heineken. Musical stylings from resident Chilitos disc jockeys and special guests as well as additional activities like face-painting and sombrero party favours gave guests more Mexican flavour infused with Jamaica spirit. “Given the massive success of last year’s Cinco de Mayo, we anticipate even more patrons will venture out to experience the celebrations. We plan to deliver not just all-new food special this year, but a brand new margarita product In the vein of the ‘beergarita’, a product that is both a drink and an experience. Additionally, we want to introduce aspects of the Mexican culture that are little less well known across the Jamaican landscape.”

Jodi Hylton, brand manager for premium brands at Red Stripe, shared that as an international brand, Heineken has always celebrated different cultures across the world. Joining the initiative and having the incredible turnout in 2018, the company continued this partnership with the JaMexican restaurant to provide an authentic and premium Cinco de Mayo experience. This year, the event will offer special Heineken ‘beergaritas’ for patrons, “Our hope is that patrons will appreciate the best of both cultures in a setting designed to open your world.”

Easier and faster access to the fantastic Cinco specials and bar, the best entertainment package and an even more authentic JaMexican vibe, against the backdrop of Chilitos distinctive laid-back, warm and welcoming vibe, everyone can look forward to a caliente Cinco de Mayo for 2019.
