When something old meets something new, the occasion calls for basking in endless bliss. That’s the sheer Sweetopia at 876.

The divine frozen dessert just got sweeter in the Sunshine City, Portmore, and here to tell us more about the craze is the new boss, Careem Mullings. The experienced entrepreneur, known for satisfying taste buds at 876 Terrace and Grill, decided to expand his culinary horizons and explore a more sugary route.

This new venture struck like lightning by chance, and Mullings explained that he followed in thundering pursuit, jumping at the opportunity to tap into a new niche, while continuing to whet appetites. “We’re looking at taking over food and beverage altogether so anything you consume, we’re looking to find a way to offer it to you,” he shared.

Officially opening last week, Sweetopia, located at Sonrise Square in Braeton Parkway, currently provides a wide variety of creamy flavours: from staples such as vanilla and strawberry, to the exotic likes of rum and raisin cookies and cream, strawberry cheesecake, pistachio, crunchie munchie and Devon stout, available in scoops for regular and waffle cones, distinctly sized containers and sundaes.

Speaking of sundaes, the festive toppings include M&Ms, gummy bears, sprinkles, chocolate chips, caramel syrup as well as chocolate syrup. But there’s more to the brand than just ice cream. Not a fan of the dripping dessert? Not a problem! Mullings has also added other pastries, namely donuts and cakes in chocolate and cheese variety. And to up the tasty ante, he crossed over to the side of savoury with sandwiches, sub sandwiches and wraps, making it your one-stop treat shop.

With reasonable and affordable prices, an assortment of delicious options to choose from, the delight of desserts (who doesn’t love Devon House ice cream?) swaddled in the convenience for those living in and around Portmore, it doesn’t get any better than this!
