Gentlemen, gentlemen, gather round! Even to have an opinion on the stuff. This time, we headed out to CPJ Market to get our hands on some cold brews we think you should venture to try. It can’t always be Heineken and Red Stripe, no matter how good they are.

Corona

You’ve had a Corona before, right? No? Well, you ought to and we suggest you get on that sooner than later. The Corona is the quintessential beer for paring, that easy sip while you’re vibing with the guys. It’s not very bitter and a wedge of lime really brings out the flavour of the Mexican lager. Now, maybe you’ve heard the jokes about the Corona, but please leave the prejudice at the door! Let the brands duke it out on their own, you have nothing but easy sipping to gain from letting this brand into your drink-up inventory.

Dos Equis ‘Especial & Amber’

Speaking of Mexican beer, let’s talk Dos Equis. You’ve heard of ‘The Most Interesting Man in the World’. Well this is the beer that’ll take you to that prestige. Okay, okay, sure those claims are kind of unverified but it can’t hurt to try, right? This is one of those lagers that can even be added to mixed drinks so really, this is a two-for-one buy, the ingredient to a beergarita and a beer you can really use for that pre-game or taco night with your friends. This beer really balances out those bold flavours found in Mexican dishes, and it’s no wonder. One interesting fact is Heineken is the parent company of Dos Equis, but don’t let that deter you! One’s Dutch and one’s Mexican. It’s different!

Miller Lite

All right, it’s not a craft beer, but it’s definitely still good for the pre-game. Whether or not you’ll admit it, you boys are just as self-conscious of the belly bloat and having a lite beer is one of the best ways to start off a night of drinking and maintaining some semblance of abs. Miller Lite has been around since the 1970s and inspired a bunch of other brands to launch their own ‘lite’ versions. Just remember to drink responsibly!

Blue Moon

Okay, let’s get a little freaky. Wait! Not like that, hold up! We meant let’s talk craft beer, or at least, crafted beer. See, this brand is the subject of many a debate on whether or not it counts as a craft beer as it’s not from a microbrewery. People probably argue for it being labelled as craft beer because they experiment with different flavours like pumpkin, iced coffee, mango and peanut butter. Anywho, we’re not here to argue technicalities, we’re here to talk hops. Blue Moon is an American brewed beer that calls itself Belgian because it’s Belgian styled, as in similar but not from. This brew should be served not with à lime wedge, but with an orange peel twist… maybe it is craft beer after all. ‘Zess’ away, fellas!
