Danya’s Coffee Barrel has only been on Harbour Street, downtown Kingston, for two months, but already it’s brewing palatable reputations.

The intimate and inviting site serves an array of light bites, pastries, and/of course coffee, all exquisitely tasting items, perfect for a morning and or afternoon bite. It’s parenting company is Fine Ideas, a full-service catering business owned by Danya Ho. The mother house is known for serving sweet, savoury and satisfying treats, and as expected, it lives up to its name, supplying some of the best-tasting tarts, cakes and brownies to the cafe.

The cosy establishment is manned by Brittany Ho, who has always had a passion for service. She gave Food a taste of the toothsome adventure that Danya’s Coffee Barrel is known for.

“We are one of the very few food establishments on this side of the street and so we try to keep our menu as fresh as possible so people do not get bored of eating the same thing every day. All of our pastries are made in our external kitchen and we try our best to use as many local ingredients and suppliers as possible,” she said.

DECADENT AND FILLING OFFERINGS

Yearning for an Italian espresso macchiato, iced chai mocha latte or strawberry lemonade? These are just some of the favourites on Danya’s Coffee Barrel menu, which changes daily. And for a more flavourful occasion, pair either one of the beverages with a serving of plantain tart, carrot cake, chocolate ganache cake, Bailey’s cheesecake or brownies. You won’t regret it! Plus, get ready to be blown away with its sandwiches, roasted beef panini and smoked marlin bagels.

“Jamaica already has a great brand worldwide, but now is the time for us to get past the music and become known as a place where you can get high-quality fusion foods. That’s why we’re offering you something different from the traditional,” she explained.

The coffee bar partners with Deaf Can Coffee. It’s a pleasing relationship that causes Ho to be confident when she says you’ll have a filling and unforgettable experience at the coffee shop.

It’s time to get your share of comfort and deliciousness. “Sometimes we get lost in running a business, but that’s not how we operate at Danya’s Coffee Barrel. We form a relationship with our customers because we want you to know that we care,” Ho shared.
