Guinness has added a new product to the stout family with the launch of Guinness Smooth today.

While the new brew still has the same malt and roast characteristics of the original Guinness, the balance between the bitter and sweet flavours of stout gives it a much smoother and refreshing taste.

“Original Guinness lovers know and love that full-bodied taste with pronounced fruity and roast character. As a brand, we will always cater to those diehard Guinness fans, but we also wanted to give our consumers something new and exciting, adding more variety for the discerning palate. We believe this product will appeal to both male and female consumers who are looking for a drink that can be enjoyed with friends on any occasion,” said Nathan Nelms, brand manager for Guinness.

On tasting the Guinness Smooth, you get an essence of coffee and chocolate notes with the additional flavours of butterscotch and caramel marrying fruitier taste cues of green apple and banana, to create a delicious flavourful liquid. In addition to the taste profile, Nelms contends that consumers will enjoy the well-balanced sophistication and affordability of the new brew.
