A decade plus five. That’s the years of culinary experience Chef Evrol Ebanks brings to the table.

The good chef currently offers take out, pop ups, and general catering services. His Middle Quarters-styled pepper shrimp paired with buttered sweetcorn are among his top sellers. Also on the list of exciting fare is the seafood extravaganza. This includes lobster, shrimp, mussels, crab, potato and sweetcorn simmered in his famous citrusy sweet and spicy sauce. His spicy chicken or shrimp penne Alfredo finished with green peas will have your mouth salivating for more. And the seafood pumpkin soup is to die for.

“I’ve been a chef for over 15 years,” he proudly told Food. Ebanks realised from early that he had a passion for the kitchen. Growing up, he was either tailing his mother to find her recipes and savoury secrets or running a boat with friends. He went on to work for Margaritavlle Caribbean and Rainforest Seafoods, both of which, he said, were very rewarding.

“Margaritavlle opened my eyes to the endless opportunities that this profession provides. Hard work and being consistent each and every day were key takeaways for me. Rainforest Seafoods further developed these traits, helping me to become a quick and critical thinker and at the same time exposing me to the commercial side of food preparation. Loads of knowledge were gained here so I am forever grateful,” he added.

Having always possessed the desire to own his destiny by becoming an entrepreneur, Ebanks was looking for the right time to make the transition. The right time came in 2018 with EATINGZ with Evrol. Despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, Ebanks has been holding his own, growing with each stride. “I’m very encouraged by the responses and feedback received so far. It’s safe to say we have an awesome product and we are on to something good,” he added.
