Smirnoff Brand Manager Lyshon Davis said an invitation was extended to skilled and professional bartenders all across the island for the 'Beyond the Bar - Dare to Mix' bartender competition.

With $1 million up for grabs, eight of the island's top bartenders will compete in Smirnoff's bartender competition, Beyond the Bar - Dare to Mix.

The five-episode digital series will see the contestants preparing authentic cocktails using products from the Diageo portfolio, which includes Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker and Tanqueray. It also aims to give bartenders the opportunity to showcase their prowess and share their stories.

"We extended an invitation to skilled and professional bartenders all across the island because we know there are talented persons out there with fewer events and opportunities to ply their trade right now," said Lyshon Davis, brand manager for Smirnoff. "We believe it was the right time for this challenge, that will not only present a $1 million prize to the top contestant, but will also provide the exposure that will open hearts and doors of possibilities for everyone who enters."

Entrants earned their spot in the competition by submitting a 60-second video explaining what makes them the best at what they do, while creating cocktails using a Diageo product.

Beyond the Bar - Dare to Mix is hosted by influencer and entrepreneur Kerry-Ann 'Chiney-K PopGirl' Collins and includes noted bartender Trevor Luke. He, along with spirits consultant Teika Samuda, will decide the fate of the bartenders as they aim to become a millionaire.

"We are excited to see them display their mastery of the trade by doing what they do best, creating unique cocktail blends. Throughout this competition, we want to see their vibe, we want to see their passion, we want to see their creativity, and we know our local bartenders have the potential to deliver," said Samuda.

Beyond the benefits to the bartenders, viewers will get a chance to learn how to do their own at home mixes.

Beyond the Bar - Dare to Mix is aired on Television Jamaica and social media via @SmirnoffJamaica and @SleekJamaica.
