It was a relaxing, de-stressing Saturday morning at Eden Gardens, 39 Lady Musgrave Road, St Andrew, with Jo-Hanna Taylor and her Yoga Wellness team.

Fit 4 Lifers were spread out on their mats on the lawns of the garden and taken through a complete yoga routine, a new feature of The Gleaner’s health and fitness initiative.

At the end of the approximately two-hour session, everyone was quite relaxed and ready to take on their Saturday tasks.

But before heading out, contestants took on a few challenges to win great prizes.

In the Fit 4 Life Push-Up Challenge, Ruth Howard won first prize; for the Foska Oats Staff Challenge, Jerry-Neal Richards was the top contender; Donna Lowe won the Downward Dog Challenge, courtesy of Fit 4 Life Brand Ambassador Dr Alfred Dawes; Odain Donegan was the winner in the Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Milk Mobility Challenge; and Faith Browne won the GraceKennedy Tree Pose Challenge.

Thanks to sponsors Jamaica Moves, WATA, PowerAde, Foska Oats, Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Milk, Elle & Vire, Caribbean Choice, Gustazos, Eden Gardens Wellness Resort & Spa, JP St Mary’s, Medical Associates Hospital & Medical Centre, and GraceKennedy Money Services for ensuring that everyone was well taken care of.

GRAND FINALE SWEATFEST

Time sure does fly! Season 3 of The Gleaner’s Fit 4 Life, dubbed ‘Fit in 5’, has come to an end.

The 12-week season of intense, grueling boot camps with fitness partners TrainFit Wellness Club, Sweet Energy Fitness Club, Body By Kurt, and Yoga Wellness was quite a success, with close to 500 participants – long-time Fit 4 Lifers, as well as new members – journeying with us to a healthier, fitter life.

The season featured free boot camp-style workouts, lifestyle and fitness tips, challenges to win great prizes, demonstrations and samplings from sponsors and partners, health checks, full-body massages, among a host of other exciting things.

This Saturday, December 7, the Grand Finale Sweatfest Party takes place right where it all started – The Gleaner’s offices, 7 North Street, Kingston.

The party begins at 6:30 a.m., and admission is free.

Come out for a grand finale fitness party unlike any other.
