Cops seek two men in Notice shooting
Police investigators probing the shooting of former Spanish Town Mayor Dr Raymoth Notice revealed late yesterday that they were searching for "at least two other men" who they believe can assist their investigation.
"The investigation is progressing smoothly and we are appealing to the residents to cooperate with the police," Assistant Commissioner Derrick Knight, head of the Area Five Police, told The Gleaner.
The disclosure came after Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth, who heads the St Catherine North Police, confirmed that a man, described as a person of interest in the early-morning attack on the well-known medical practitioner, was already in custody.
"He will be questioned around several issues, including that matter," Nesbeth revealed.
The man was taken into custody on Monday afternoon.
Notice was at his home near Bog Walk, St Catherine, when two gunmen approached him and demanded money. The police report that when their demands were not met, the men opened fire, hitting him several times.
Family members have indicated that he was out of surgery and was in stable condition.
