With some of Jamaica's top athletes 7,864 miles (12,656 km) away in Qatar where they competed in the opening meet of the Diamond League season last Friday, The Sunday Gleaner gave them the opportunity to wish their mothers a Happy Mother's Day.

Veronica Campbell-Brown to her mother Pamella Bailey:

"Happy Mother's Day to the best mother in the world and I love you very much. I never get to be there for Mother's Day, because I am always travelling in May, but you are always in my heart."

Hansle Parchment to his mother Francis Parchment and second mother Jean Douglas:

"Happy Mother's Day to my mommies, and thanks for the support through hard and good times. God bless and long life."

Kaliese Spencer to her mother Merfelyn Robinson-Spencer:

"I just want to wish her a happy Mother's Day and I hope she enjoys the day. Lots of blessings and love.

Omar McLeod to his mother Arnella Morris:

"Just want to say happy Mother's Day and I love you."

Kimberly Williams to her mother Angella Diego:

"Happy Mother's Day mommy; I love you. Sorry I can't be there to spend this special day with you, but every day is Mother's Day for you. You are super special and I love you from the bottom of my heart. Shout out to all the mothers in Jamaica!"
