Kingston, Jamaica:

Sunday, August 7, 2016: Unlike most Jamaicans who will experience the Games in Brazil from the comfort of their homes or offices, Kingston resident Kevin Nembhard will be in the stands of the Maracana Stadium viewing the competition like a boss.

Nembhard is one of five Red Stripe consumers who won a trip for two to Brazil in the GO for GOLD summer promotion. "Trust me, this trip is going to be awesome. Can't wait to touch down in Brazil and see what it's really like, and not just what they show you on TV," said Nembhard.

Departing Kingston on August 11, the group of grand prize winners includes six of Red Stripe's customers and two sales executives from Celebration Brands Limited (CBL), distributor for the beer company.

"We wanted to give our loyal consumers an opportunity of a lifetime, but we recognise that our partners at CBL and our customers also deserve to have this awesome experience," said Reshima Kelly, Red Stripe's assistant brand manager.

Excitement building

With only four days to go before departure, the GO for GOLD winners are making their final preparations. "I'm just so excited about the races and the different places we'll get to see," said Delroy Daley, who's taking his wife, Eleite, with him on the trip.

Tickets for events have already been secured for the grand prize winners, who are hoping to watch history unfold in real time.

"We're getting ready to shell down the place. Team Jamaica we sey!" said Daley, who's also excited about sharing photos and the experience with friends back home.

Besides the athletics competition, the group will get a chance to tour the world-famous 'Christ the Redeemer' site with its panoramic view of the city. They will also visit Jamaica House Rio, which is being hosted by the Jamaica Tourist Board at the Jockey Club's Prado Restaurant, featuring live music from music greats like Luciano and Kymani Marley.

"We're planning to create some lasting memories for this group of winners. From the moment we land in Brazil 'til we get back to the Rock, they will definitely feel what's good about Red Stripe," said Kelly. The group, which will be led by Kelly, returns to the island on August 20.

In addition to the grand prize winners, hundreds of other beer lovers won prizes in the GO for GOLD summer promotion, with several of them claiming $50,000 in cash, Smart TVs and home-viewing parties, courtesy of the 'Great Jamaican Beer'.
