Munroe to outline Jamaica's corruption imperative

Dr Trevor Munroe, presenter at the 12th Annual CIN Lecture Series, has declared that endemic corruption in Jamaica hinders economic growth and leads to a serious deterioration of social services and social norms.

At this year's CIN Lecture, to be held at the Schomburg Center on November 17, Munroe will be putting forward his argument for Jamaicans at home and in the diaspora to lobby for legislation to bring perpetrators of corruption to justice.

His presentation, 'Curbing Corruption - Jamaica's Imperative', will outline the many forms of corruption that envelop the Jamaican society and his prescriptions for solving this problem.

Munroe is the executive director of the National Integrity Action (NIA), the Jamaican Chapter of Transparency International, the leading global coalition against corruption.

Visionary Caribbean leaders

The CIN Lecture Series, created to present important intellectuals, is a community forum for hearing visionary Caribbean leaders who reflect on regional affairs and who provide hope and direction for the future.

Over the years, speakers have been leaders, artists, policymakers, business leaders, and scholars offering own unique perspectives. Last year, Don Wehby, CEO of GraceKennedy Group, delivered a powerful presentation to a capacity audience.
