Caricel hearing continues today
Lawyers involved in the court challenge brought by Symbiote Investments Limited against the Andrew Holness administration yesterday declined to comment on the case after nearly four hours of legal arguments before the Supreme Court.
The attorneys, who included Attorney General Marlene Malahoo Forte, cited a gag order imposed by presiding judge Justice Leighton Pusey.
However, The Gleaner understands that lawyers for Symbiote Investments, led by former Solicitor General Douglas Leys, are seeking several court orders that would bar the Government from revoking the telecoms licence that was awarded to the company.
Symbiote is seeking to provide telecoms service locally under the name Caricel.
Leys was the first to present his legal arguments.
The hearing is scheduled to continue today.
