$30 million worth of cocaine seized at Kingston wharf

The narcotics police have seized some $30 million worth of cocaine at a wharf in Kingston.

It is reported that about 8:40 last night, members of the Customs Enforcement Team searched a refrigerated container and found 24 rectangular parcels, each containing cocaine.

The police say the drug, which weighed 26.7 kilogrammes, was processed and secured.

They also report that investigation have so far has revealed that the container had earlier arrived in Jamaica from Suriname.

No one was arrested in relation to this seizure.
