The Clarendon police have launched a major investigation into this morning's discovery of four bodies in Thomas River, Pennants, Clarendon.
The bodies are believed to be those of four men who went missing from St Elizabeth.
Earlier, their car was found abandoned on Foga Road in Clarendon.
Up a short to a short while ago, the police were still processing the scene.
Councillor for the Chapelton division Hershell Brown was surprised by the discovery.
"It's obviously very shocking and unexpected," Brown said.
"It's a quiet rural farming community... everyone is in shock," he said.
