A parish judge has ordered that the two men arrested in connection with a multimillion-dollar money laundering probe be remanded.

The order was made yesterday when the two men, Lawrence Pommels, an engineer employed to the government-owned firm National Energy Solutions Limited, and Ricardo Harris, appeared in the St Catherine Parish Court.

The case has been transferred to the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court and is to be mentioned again on June 26.

Both men are charged with possession of criminal property and bribery.

Pommels, 33, was arrested during a multi-agency operation in New Harbour Village, St Catherine, earlier this month that netted $35 million in cash and four luxury motor vehicles, including a BMW X6 and an Audi sport utility vehicle.

The police say that further investigations led to Harris' arrest.
