Ackee Walk shocked by suspected murder-suicide

The Constant Spring police are probing a suspected case of murder-suicide after a 60-year-old fisherman and his 25-year-old girlfriend were found dead last Friday at a house on Fairdene Avenue in Ackee Walk, St Andrew.
The deceased woman has been identified as Kemeisha Solomon of a St Elizabeth address and Chester Fong, who lived at the Ackee Walk premises.
When The Gleaner visited the community yesterday, relatives and neighbours were still shocked at the incident.
“When I heard the gunshots dem, we think a drive-by or gunman a shoot up the place,” one resident said. “When it calm down and we realise, a that time everybody frighten and a ask what happen there so.”
The fire brigade was called to cut open the grille so that investigators could gain access to the inside of the house.
Fong, who was of Chinese decent, is said to have been actively involved in fishing and upholstery. A resident said that Fong met Solomon while she was taking care of his now-deceased mother and that they had been going through “some issues” and were arguing shortly before the tragedy.
“It shocking that ... him to do something like that because we live here with him and have never seen an ugly side. You know those type of man that don’t want nobody in his business? A just him that – work to home,” the resident said.
“Him nuh talk. This shocking to everybody,” another added. “Him did live with his wife that gave him four kids. We never hear him and her yet ... . She eventually moved out. Is only the kids we see come since the incident.”
Police reports are that about 10:30 p.m. last Friday, they were called to the premises, where the two bodies, with gunshot wounds, were found inside the house.
They theorise that the two had an altercation and a .38 revolver was used to shoot Solomon before Fong turned the weapon on himself.
