COVID tally at The Golden Age Home jumps to 69

Tufton... new restrictions have been put in place to contain the virus at the home.

Health and Wellness Minister Christopher Tufton has reported that another 26 COVID cases have been confirmed at The Golden Age Home in Vineyard Town, Kingston.

This means there are now 69 cases there. 

This comprises 40 residents and 19 staff. Ten are yet to be determined.

Earlier this week, the ministry announced that there were 43 cases at The Gold Age Home.

Since then, it has completed testing a total of 564 staff and residents.

The minister said new restrictions have been put in place to contain the virus at the home.

At the same time, he is warning that the government will shut down private golden age homes if they do not enforce health protocols.
