Man charged in connection with fiery mob killing

Silent Hill, Manchester:
The Manchester police have arrested and charged a farmer from the Silent Hill community in Christiana, Manchester, in connection with the murder of 45-year-old Jerrime Hendricks, the former ship worker who was beaten and set ablaze on Monday, February 8.
Thirty-year-old Andre Young, otherwise called ‘Niko’, has been charged with murder and conspiracy to murder.
Reacting to the news, Hendricks’ cousin, Sonya Goulbourne, said that she is trusting the justice system to do right by her relative.
“I am hoping that justice will be served. My cousin did not fabricate anything when he was giving his statement, so with effective policing and the justice system that I believe in, I think that we will get the justice that we desire,” she said.
Reports are that about 12:30 a.m. last week Tuesday, Hendricks went to a shop to purchase a cigarette in Silent Hill when he was accosted by a group of men, including Young.
The men allegedly questioned Hendricks about his identity and his reason for being in the community before beating him and then setting him on fire.
The police were alerted and Hendricks was taken to hospital for treatment.
He was later transferred to another medical facility, where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, February 16.
No court date has yet been set for Young to make an appearance.
The other men are still being sought by the police.
