All abortions reprehensible

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn moved a motion for the Government

to consider decriminalising abortion. This recommendation is just absurd. Jamaicans are speedily eroding the foundation of this country, which was built on Christian beliefs and principles, replacing it with individualistic choices and opinions.

An ovum is just merely an ovum that will deteriorate after a time. However, an ovum joined with a sperm automatically becomes life. Without this activation of the sperm, no development can take place. Therefore, regardless of the time an abortion is done, a life is taken. Decriminalising abortion will trigger more murders than even guns can cause.

Let us take responsibility for our actions. For those who may be victims of sexual abuse, try to look on the positive side: Some of our best doctors, anointed pastors and other successful people were products of such tragedy.
