Discourteous no-show by MP Bunting

In late April, I called the office of Central Manchester Member of Parliament Peter Bunting to make an appointment to see him. I was told that no appointment was made over the telephone and that I should come in with IDs. I was astonished.

On May 2, 2018, I went with my passport and tax registration number and made an appointment for June 1 at 11 a.m. The aide entered my information, including name, address and phone number, into his computer database and assured me that all was confirmed.

On Friday, June 1, a group of 10 May Day senior citizens, aged 75 to 91, arrived at the office, only to find a dark, locked office with no notice on the door to advise us.

We sat on the steps for almost an hour hoping that someone would come and explain. After making enquiries, I was told that another event was in progress at another venue. Why were we not told that the meeting was cancelled? This date was confirmed a full month.

Is this the way to treat senior citizens? Common courtesy would have required some contact. This is shameful and disgusting behaviour.
