Integrity Commission won't be drawn into tell-all

Published:Thursday | June 21, 2018 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

The Integrity Commission notes the articles published in The Gleaner titled 'Mr Grey should start Petrojam probe' dated June 19, 2018, and the subsequent later article 'Integrity Commission must still probe Petrojam' dated June 20, 2018.

This is to advise that in accordance with the law, namely, Section 53 (3) of the Integrity Commission Act:

"Until the tabling in Parliament of a report under Section 36, all matters under investigation by the director of investigation or any other person involved in such investigation shall be kept confidential and no report or public statement shall be made by the commission or any other person in relation to the initiation or conduct of an investigation under this act."

I hope this response will assist you and your readers to gain clarity in relation to this matter.

DAVID D. GREY

Director of Investigations
