All we need is love

The Editor, Sir:

Many-time Festival Song winner, Eric Donaldson - a successful reggae icons - wrote this festival entry song some years go, that was not selected as the winning song: "All we need is love, love is all we need, love." That is true indeed. Eric is right.

It is certain that, if love was flowing in this world, like a never-ending stream, crime, violence and untimely deaths would never have taken such a massive toll on our world.

If love for our fellow brothers and sisters was flowing in abundance among us - in Jamaica and across the globe, many people who have been brutally murdered in crime and violence, in domestic disputes and bomb blasts, would have been alive today, unless natural death would have been the cause.

If love was dominating the hearts of the murderers and criminals, the world would be at a great peace instead of daily bouts of war, dilemmas and mayhem bombarding it - left, right and centre.
